The smallest dictator

Our house has become over run by the world's tiniest dictator. Anna banana has become almost over night a 'terrible two'. Sure, we had our share of meltdowns before and a few temper tantrums before two years, but they have taken on a whole new level! On a daily basis, I wonder which Anna will appear, my sweet smiley cheeky monkey, or the rowdy shoving dare I say, bratty, Anna. There are lots of time-outs being utilized - although, we call it the consequence chair - and, surprise, surprise, it finally works! She will sit and give us the evil eye, but one minute later, will apologize and give a big hug. Twice this week, she was in the consequence chair before 8am! Now, that's the start of a bad day. Her temper tantrums are something to be witnessed, too. I have to laugh ( behind her back of course! ) every time she throws one. She's not very good at it. Her idea of temper tantrum is to fling her body on the ground and roll around once or twice- no kicking, no screaming, nothing. I totally ignore it and she'll move on to more heinous activities, like yelling and pushing to which I actually respond to. Anna banana will boss Daddy and Mommy around all evening, every day. 'Sit there, do this, don't do that, No, No, No, Mine, Mine, Mine'. Then, each night, as I am getting more and more frustrated by her newest level of insanity, she'll pat my hand and tell me 'I wuv you'. I turn instantly into mush and forget all about any irrational behavior I witnessed. ( at least until the next morning )

Easter

We spent our Easter at Nana and Pop-pop's house on the horse farm ( not exactly but they're close by ). Anna had a blast with her big cousin Cameron and her little cousin Molly. We spent an hour or two decorating eggs then the girls went on their Easter egg hunt. What a blast, Anna could barely contain her excitement! Every time she found an egg, she cracked it open to see what goodies might be inside. I think pop pop even hid a dollar bill in one of them - that created some confusion. We did a quick photo shoot with the cousins and then one with Anna and Charlie. Here are a few of the great pics from the day.

2 years old!

Our baby had her two year check up today. I realized as she sat like a big girl at the 'dotor's' that she's not really our baby anymore. She was very brave during her tb test and was excited to learn that not only did she get a lollipop, she also got to wear three very shiny bandaids to school. Pediatrician's have the best bribes! It has been awhile since I've updated the blog on all things Anna, so here goes!

Favorite things:
Daddy
Charlie
pops ( lollipops )
Mickey Mouse
being outside
bubbles
her purple crocs

New sayings:
what's up dude
See you tomorrow! ( says this everytime she says 'bye')
Anna does it herself
cute
pretty princess ( as in Mommy has pretty princess hair?!! - still don't know where that came from, but I'll take it! )

She's very opinionated but also very concerned with what her friends might be up to at any moment. If we're eating, then we have to name all of her friends who might also be having dinner. If we're going to sleep, she's concerned that some of her friends might not be in bed yet ( they are! ). We have to name everyone and end with Anna, at which point, she'll promptly eat or shut her eyes.

We also started art class at our house last week - I'll do another post on that, but it's great fun and hopefully the beginning of a new ritual for us and our friends!
