Anna and Charlie thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas this year. As usual, we went overboard and there are more toys in our house than there really ought to be. We enjoyed the holiday with Karl's family - a big thanks to them for helping make Christmas in our new house special! We ate too much, drank too much and had a LOT of cookies. Here are a few pics:
Lately, it has become more and more difficult to get Anna into the bathtub. Her most current excuse is that she's not actually dirty. More often that not, she's technically right. She's not caked in mud or anything and if she washes her hands and face, then for all intents and purposes, she's mostly 'clean'. I am usually chasing a naked, slippery toddler around the house after any tub event, so maybe I should just stop trying! Catching a fast two year old isn't usually on my list of fun things to do at night. I try though to do tubbies every other night, I mean, I don't think that's too much to ask! Here are the latest collection of tub time pictures at our house... ( as you can see, our reasonable little boy thinks the bath is a super fun place! )
On or about April 15th - as we're getting ready for bed... "mommy, there's a nightmare under my bed!".
Jan. 4th - " What's the big idea? " said for the most part at anything that Anna isn't thrilled about. Also, a funny one, "That's so silly". hard to put into context but very funny when it comes out of her mouth.
Nov. 30th - "Mommy, this is my favorite song - play it LOUDER ( the song is 'Good girls go bad') Mommy, louder, louder, louder! "She knows all of the words too. Note to self, have her hearing checked.
Nov. 28th - from the backseat of the car on way home from Ohio "mommy is getting her butt kicked". In my defense, I was very tired and we had been in the car forever...... I don't recall ever using the word 'butt' in our house though. We call it a tushy... but a tushy kicking isn't as descriptive, is it?
Nov. 20th While driving home the other day, Anna and I have an interesting conversation. It goes like this:
Anna: Drive SUPER Fast mommy! Me: why, honey? Anna: because Daddy drives SUPER fast, and I say 'HOLD ON, DADDY!' giggle giggle (also mimics holding on to the arm rest for safety purposes) Me: safety first, honey. Anna: No, I like super fast, mommy. But you're pretty. Me: gosh, thanks honey.
* note to self. Talk to Karl about his driving habits.
I am the proud mommy to Anna and Charlie - ages almost 3 and 9 months. We live near DC and enjoy living near the nation's capital. Karl and I have been married 4 years.
